End of August pics

DH complained that I had not recently posted pics of the cats, so here they are...

We brought Momo and Chouchou to the vet on Sunday to have them get their yearly injection. They reacted pretty strongly to the injection and were so quiet on Monday... now, it's almost back to normal.

We will see how Maxu is in October and bring her too for injection.

PS: Chouchou weight about 3.8kg, Momo about 4.8 kg. I would say that Maxu weights probably less than 4kg. At times, she seems so light...

Maxu update

Maxu is doing more or less fine, given the circumstances.

She looks really small on this picture taken last week. She weights probably around 4kg. There are days she feels so light.

She became pickier with food and does not care much (if at all) for fish. She probably got bored of it.

Luckily, we can find some beef/chicken can food that have a strong smell (and taste, I guess). Pieces are too big for her. She no longer chews, just swallows her food. We now have not only dishes for cats only, but also forks that are used only for cats food purposes.

Momo is taking advantage of Maxu's weakness and tries to show himself as more powerful. Power struggles can be a pain to see (and listen to). Luckily, they fight rarely.

Maxu update

We are relieved that say that Maxu is doing much better. Appetite is back. In fact, she was waiting (or "camping", as I usually say) in the kitchen this morning for breakfast.

We give her about half a (small) can of food for one meal and she would eat all her share. She sometimes gets hungry between meals.

Fingers crossed: she has been able to retain all foods. Let's hope that this lasts...

I tried to weight her recently. The scale said about 4.4 kg. That's light, if you think that last time at the vet, she weighted 5.4 kg. And not so long time ago, over 7kg...

As long as she eats, there is hope.

The only question mark remaining her heart. That could stop at anytime. Time bomb kind of situation. We have no choice but live with it (kind of similar to earthquakes here in Japan---know about it, be prepared, but don't think about it too often...)
