New cats tree

We ordered a new cats' tree (or cats' tower in Japanese) and I put it together yesterday evening.

Cats are enjoying it a lot. It's nice to watch them enjoying their new toy so much.

It takes more space than first expected, so the position is probably not final.

Being close (or not)

Momo and Chouchou tend to be rather independent from each other. They leave each other some space, usually.

And when they don't, this is the result...

I took the pictures with my mobile phone, quality is not always so great...

Oh, I forgot to mention that Chouchou is off her "yofuku" (special cloth) and that the scar is healing nicely.

Chouchou after surgery

You would not think that Chouchou just had surgery. She is as energetic as usual.

We took some pictures this morning.

Chouchou thinks that the cloth is like her fur.
And by the way, she already damaged the cloth
(I had to repair and strenghen its back).

You can see the scar here. Very small.

Momo and Chouchou were so happy to again be together...

I am honestly not sure if Chouchou was so happy to have Momo THAT close....

Chouchou found a way to get rid of her cloth. I repaired it and weput it again on her. She is supposed to keep it until next Saturday.

Chouchou was neutered

We brought Chouchou yesterday to the vet to have her neutered. Spring had come rather early in our household and she was being really very "girly girly".

The vet only cut/ligated Chouchou's tubes, without removing the uterus, etc. As a consequence, recovery will be much faster and the scar is barely one centimer long. The vet explained this morning, as we picked up Chouchou, that they sewed in such a way that we will almost not see any scar.

What a difference between Chouchou now and Maxou 14 years ago. I still remember getting her back from the vet. She had a rather large scar and had trouble walking for several days. She was in pain.

Chouchou, on the other hand, is almost running. The vet put some kind of cloth so that she doesn't hurt her skin/stomach and this limits slightly her movements. She will get antibiotica for about 4 days.

See for yourself how she looks like now:

January pics of the no-longer-kittens

and a very rare picture of Maxou on my futon (she usually never goes on it)

Some more pictures from the past

This is one of my favorite pictures of Titi. It was taken around 1993. We were living in a small village near Berne, on the second floor. Titi loved to sit at the window. He always loved windows.

This was taken after 1998. We were near Zurich. Titi was always so cute when asleep. His poses were just so ... cute... His fur would get so soft and fluffy in winter.

This one here was taken in Berne, where we lived for about 2 years, from 1993.

Titi and Maxou did love each other, at least when they were very young. We have some more proofs here:
